We are happy to announce that the association now has a third honey extractor available for your use. Perhaps you had not yet heard, or maybe you are new to the club. In any case, being a member of the NE Mn Beekeepers Association entitles you to use of a club extractor for up to four nights at a time. All we ask is that you return it clean and in working order. We store them in Cloquet, Duluth and Hermantown. You can see when each one is in use on our club calendar (https://www.nemnba.org/club-calendar/). Note that the calendar will show up to three entries in a day if all of the units are reserved.
If a time slot is available, simply click on one of the three links found under the calendar to schedule your choice with an extractor host. He or she will get back to using the contact info that you provide. Shortly after your reservation is confirmed, you will be added to the calendar.
We ask that you not pass the extractor on to another member without the permission of the extractor host. This will ensure that the host always knows where the equipment is.
In addition to the extractor, you will need some form of decapping tool, a 5 gallon food grade pail to receive your honey, and some form of filter medium or strainer to remove the bits of capping wax and random bee parts. If you have any questions, please reply back to this email address, or feel free to contact one of our hosts.
