Will you be selling honey at the Carlton County Fair?
Here is a quick review for members planning to sell honey at our booth:
Remember to include on your honey label the following:
- What is in the container – Honey, Raw Honey, Pure Honey, Spun Honey, Honeycomb, etc.
- Your name or your apiary’s name
- How you can be contacted – email address, phone number, or street address
- The net weight of the product inside in ounces, grams, kilos or any combination of those
- A warning like – “Honey should not be fed to children under one year of age”
Honey must be dropped off Wednesday evening, August 14th, between 4 and 7 pm. At drop off, you will be asked to choose a display location from 1-18 on the display shelves. You will then be asked to fill out a form listing what you are dropping off and the items’ price. Finally, all of your items must be tagged (colored spots to be provided) with your seller number and the item’s price.
As decided by the club, liquid honey should be priced at $1 per ounce. Specialty honey, honeycomb, and spun honey can be priced as the seller determines.
If you would like to include your honey in the tasting event, please remember to bring an extra squeeze bottle to place at the tasting table. It should be labeled the same as your other product and should also be marked with your seller number to help people find it on the shelves.
Unsold honey can be picked up on Monday evening, August 19th, between 5 and 7pm. Please do not ask to take it home with you on Sunday evening as this causes confusion and counting errors.
You will be paid for your honey that was sold at the event our next meeting on August 26th. The club will retain 15% of all sales to help finance our ongoing operations.
