Nuc delivery is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, 2022
We have been notified that our nucs will be ready for pickup on the morning of the 27th. They should arrive in Cloquet around 10am. Delivery will be made at the A-Frame as in the past. Please plan to pick up your nucs between 10 am and 1 pm. If you are not able to be there at that time, please arrange for someone else to pick them up for you.
Once delivered, our supplier offers this advice:
When the nucs arrive they will be quite crowded for space. Ideally they should be hived immediately. If you are not able to do that, our supplier suggests that you remove the feeder frame in the fifth slot and replace it with a frame of drawn comb to give the queen space to continue laying eggs. Once hived, he suggests that you feed the bees 1:1 sugar water and a pollen pattie. This will simulate the beginning of a nectar flow and encourage the queen to lay more eggs and the workers to build and prepare more comb for her.
Note: We will have a limited supply of pollen patties available that morning.
See You there!
