At our October 22, 2018 meeting, 28 members gathered to elect our officers for 2019. They are:
- President – Jeff Tibbetts (term expires 1/1/2020)
- Vice-President – Dallas McGee (term expires 1/1/2020)
- Secretary – Sonja Kennedy (term expires 1/1/2020)
- Treasurer – Theresa Smith (term expires 1/1/2020)
- Board Member 1 – Jeff Charnes (2 year term) (term expires 1/1/2021)
- Board Member 2 – Joe Coffey (2 year term) (term expires 1/1/2021)
Continuing on for year two of their current term:
- Board Member 3 – Renee Gaffney (term expires 1/1/2020)
- Board Member 4 – Tom Bates (term expires 1/1/2020)
Congratulations to our new officers for 2019, and our sincere thanks to Deb Drexler and Jon Sellnow for their service this past year.
Here is an excerpt from our bylaws showing each member’s responsibilities:
ARTICLE V – OFFICERS
President. The President shall call all meetings & preside at all meetings
of the association. The President shall act as chairman of the Board of Directors and perform
such duties as necessary in connection with the office. The President will also be the overseer
of all other executive positions. The President shall have such other powers as conferred upon
him/her by the Executive Committee. President is responsible to send meeting reminder of
date & time, scheduled treat person and what topic or speaker will be for the meeting.
Vice-President. The Vice-President shall have such powers and shall
perform such duties as may be prescribed by the Board of Directors or by the President. In the
event of absence or disability of the President, the Vice President shall succeed to his or her
powers and duties. The Vice President is responsible for educational programs and will handle
Secretary. The Secretary shall be Secretary of, and when present, shall record proceedings of all meetings of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee; shall maintain records of the proceedings of the Board of Directors; shall keep a register of the names and addresses of all members of this corporation; shall at all times keep on file a complete copy of the Articles of Incorporation and all amendments and restatements thereof
and a complete copy of these Bylaws and all amendments and restatements hereof; shall, when
directed to do so, give proper notice of meetings of the Board of Directors and meetings of the
Executive Committee, if any; shall perform such other duties as may from time to time be
prescribed by the Board of Directors or by the President and the Vice-President; and, in
general, shall perform all duties usually incident to the office of the Secretary. The Secretary is
also responsible for disseminating a copy of monthly meeting minutes to the membership
within 10 days of the meeting.
Treasurer. The Treasurer shall accept and keep record of all money received, and not pay out any of this money except by approval from the President or the Vice President. The Treasurer shall issue a hard copy of the financial report given at each meeting. The Treasurer shall keep a record of paid members and provide this record to the President or the executive committee when requested. The Treasurer will collect dues along with a yearly
Directors (n=4). The Directors will provide continuity and direction to
the Board of Directors. Each pair of Directors will serve alternating two year terms.
